As a cathedral I give it 4*. Not its fault really - it was a church given the status of a cathedral - so it does not have the grant stature of a cathedral building. But a lovely place to visit - has an excellent cafe - had an art/craft market on the day I visited. Has the standard from HMS Sheffield.

Beautiful comforting atmosphere, and the way it is built creates incredible acoustics of course. When they have musicians practicing I always feel lucky to be there. Rev Richard bumped into me and my friend here and was so friendly, prayed for our late Mums...a healing moment I'm grateful for.

Must admit, I had never associated Sheffield with a cathedral, so it was a first and was very impressive. In good condition, with interesting stained glass, a temporary sculpture exhibition and very well-executed Remembrance Day displays. An oasis of calm in the busy city centre.

It was a lovely experience exploring one of the oldest cathedrals. People there were so welcoming and explained history about construction and paintings. The most attractive thing was the painting of the last supper which illustrated black Christ accommodating the concept all human beings are equal.

An incredibly beautiful place in Sheffield. I love coming here. We were also lucky with the weather
