Blackmore Dr, Sidmouth EX10 8LQ, UK
Lovely place to relax & watch the many squirrels run around & play. Granddaughter loves it there

Discovered these pretty and well-kept little gardens while exploring Sidmouth. They are close to the parish church, more accessible than nearby Connaught Gardens, with level tarmac paths and no steps. Plenty of benches. The gardens were once part of a private estate, and there's some interesting information near the entrance about their history and that of the now demolished Blackmore Hall. There are lawns, colourful flower borders, wooded paths, a small conservatory and car parking close by. A tranquil little place to enjoy some relaxation away from the bustle of the town centre.

I don't think we've ever visited these gardens without seeing a squirrel! Very nice, well maintained gardens. I particularly like the little corner garden with the lamppost.

Beautiful relaxing and easy flat public gardens

The gardens are quiet and spacious with plenty of seating, both in the sun and out. The flower displays are interesting and there are many trees as well as a large grassed area. Just 2 minutes walk from the town centre.
