THE GARRICK THEATRE Concerts 2024

Historical location in the heart of Stockport, beautiful 1900’s community theatre. The staff was really welcoming and helpful, we’ve been there for three days shooting a 1940’s movie and without them this wouldn’t have been possible. Interesting archive and props store.

Comedy night was pretty good although you need to pay attention at the bar. The staff have no clue what there doing, who is next ,some poor the bottles in to plastic glasses others just give you the bottles Lady next to me (at the bar) asked for a single vodka and then said it was only a half measure so bit of a argument started so I suggested the barman just poor it back in to the measuring thing It was about half a measure! Bar that (pun intended) it was a good night comic's were great 👍

Nice, big theatre, but getting a bit old and slightly deteriorated here and there. They have got some lovely shows there, and the tickets are reasonably priced. The insufficient lavatories caused huge lines during intermission when it was full house. Otherwise the facilities are not bad I have to say. Although being old, the decor in this theatre has been considered rather nice, some in antique styles, feeling historic. This is not the topmost performance venue one can find in Greater Manchester, but I won't mind going there again, as long as there some some good shows again! Some renovations to certain aging facilities would be highly appreciated though.
