The Tivoli Theatre Concerts 2024-2025

What can I say...I am a huge Tivoli fan and the staff here (mostly volunteers) are amazing. Always friendly and approachable. Just been to see the panto (our 5th year), and we won't go anywhere else. The production and cast are simply the best we've ever seen and top class, but that's another review. This is about the venue and the Tivoli is the perfect size and atmosphere for starting our Christmas with a beautiful location for a pantomime. Truly special venue

Authentic renovation of beautiful provincial theatre. Great acoustics. Classic old theatre seats so wear comfortable clothes. Auditorium a bit long so you might find you are too far back in the circle. Car park nearby. Close to pubs and restaurants. Value ticket prices.

The Tivoli is a charming, old school theatre with a surprising range of performers. They have quite a few comedians, we see the blind stand-up comedian Chris McCausland recently and one of the true old school comedians and entertainers, Jimmy Tarbuck who is a witty and charming raconteur despite his age. Lots of the music groups are bands known for particular styles like folk but also quite a lot of tribute bands, most of whom are surprisingly good. There is a small bar at reasonable prices compared to many theatres we’ve been to and the theatre itself can hold a fair number of people given it looks very small from the outside. It holds just under 500 people and is regularly sold out. A lot of the staff are volunteers which keeps the tickets a reasonable price. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the nearest theatres, particularly the Lighthouse Centre for the Arts in Poole but it has its own area of the theatre-going market that it serves very well.

Great little venue. Will definitely come back if good music artists are performing.

Lovely little theatre, only small criticism, the wife's in a wheelchair and towards the end on the show, people bloked her view dancing, and there was no member of staff there to asked them to sit down. So she could enjoy the end of the show
