Museum Gardens Concerts 2025

Vibrant and luscious garden surrounding an elegant museum! When the plants are dewy and damp, and the sunlight hits them in the early morning, the effect is absolutely otherworldly. I came here in the soft slanting sunlight before a long day of adventuring throughout York. I believe that this place should be experienced in such a way: as a calm and nourishing interlude between exhilarating and wild chapters of life, whether other parts of a trip, or simply the chaos of the everyday world. The life force of spring seems to flow through all of these damp and shining plants, from two laps to daffodils to even elegant sakura trees.

A tranquil and beautiful area that I have visited many times. Observe the abbey ruins or just take a amble near the river. Or maybe you would prefer to bring a picnic. Whatever you choose, the gardens are close to the train station and transport links. This is a particularly pleasant and memorable area to visit..

What a historic are. My goodness, the history of this are is so thought provoking. The well manicured park and thoughtfully placed flowers are breathtaking. A gotta go place to see.

As a public space, the museum gardens are typically York. I work about 10 minutes walk and enjoy taking lunch at this iconic space on sunny days. A good blend of activity and nature in balance. Family and tourist friendy. Enjoy!

The Museum Gardens are beautiful, we always like to have a stroll through them when we visit York. On this particular occasion which was a Bank Holiday, we were treated to cannons being fired and the Yorkshire Regiment Military Band playing some contemporary hits too which was an unexpected and welcome bonus!
