Hilltop Tavern and Inn Concerts

Beware driving in at night. The locals do not appreciate you going slow on the unknown roads. Other than that our stay was spectacular. Yes the walls are very thin, so be mindful if you can't sleep through your neighbors talking in the morning. The staff was sweet and helpful. Make sure to call in a few days before to make sure they have your number for the check in. And bring some big spray if you aren't used to bugs like we weren't. Gorgeous views, and so quiet at night.

I've never eaten here ...only go for the music. They have transformed their live music "room" into an amazing space. Sound is amazing. And I'm sure once it warms back up, the wall might come down to an amazing view of the city below. Drinks are kinda pricey. the bartenders are extremely nice, security is top notch. Just a great atmosphere.

Such an awful experience. The manager lady, Shalon was extremely, purposely RUDE. This is how it went: I received a text that my room was ready, when I arrived I was planning on laying in the sun to even out my tan, I live in hermosa and got a funky red face burn, so my objective was to stay in the Inn to get an all over body tan. And book another night, paying cash. That way, I would have the full day to lay in the desert sun. Me: i called the number I received the text from Manager lady, Shalon: Hilltop Inn Me: (Standing on the back patio, looking at all the chairs) Hello, do y'all have any lounge chairs... Shalon: we have plenty of chairs on the patio (just imagine the rudest tone you can imagine) Me: Yes, I see them, but are there any lounge chairs on property I can use... Shalon: We have plenty of chairs in the back patio. Me: Yes, but do you have any lounge chairs that I can lay on Shalon: NO Me: okay, thinking to myself, why is she so angry rude) ( I step inside and ask about the internet) May I get the internet code. I dont see one. Shalon: IT'S ON THE TV. she then hangs up on me. Now remember, I was going to ask her if I could book another night with cash and that i forgot my hair dryer, if there was one I can use. I call back a couple of minutes later.. No answer. I had a Zoom meeting I had to attend so I could not call back until 5:30. I call back, no answer. I call again, no answer. I get a text 'Can I help you'... I respond 'yes' and 'obviously' I call again, no answer. I send a text 'Whatever ill feelings you have towards me, you need to set aside, I am a guest at this Inn and I am a Hotels . Com gold member, your rudeness will be reported. Shalon finally calls me back with a tone of angry rudeness.. Me: Hello Shalon: The office closes at 5 o'clock. What do you need. Me: well I called at 3:38 after you hung up on me before I was able to ask for an extra set of towels. Shalon: I did not get any such call, and you have all the towels that are aloted to you for the day Deborah. Me: excuse me Shalon, I have proof that I called you a few minutes after you hung up and I always ask for an extra set of towels when I travel (I use the bath towels to lounge in the sun, so I always need an extra set for when I bathe, (I thought to myself, never has anyone got lippy with me, I have always been obliged in my request for extra towels when I travel). I then asked for a remote. Shalon: oh yah, the lamp was stolen out of that room, we must have overlooked the remote. I'll get you a remote, but I'm not at the office, and I'll get you a set of towels, even though we don't ever do that since you already have your alloted towels for the day Deborah. Shalon then hangs up....again. An hour later I call to see what's up, no answer, of course. I was starving and wanted to know if the restaurant was open, as I was craving a steak. But, she once again refused to answer. I then took myself to Jess Ranch for dinner and Ulta to buy a hair dryer.. I receive a text that she put my towels and remote on the porch. I arrive back and find the towels on the nasty torn, with holes, dirty door mat. Yep, on the floor. And of course, the remote did not work for the TV, so I could not enjoy the movie I was going to watch. I want a refund. I have been to the Tavern many times to watch the live bands and each time. Shalon was short and kinda rude to me. I really never cared. But, as I paid good money to stay at the Inn, wanting to pay cash for another night and wanting to spend money on a good steak dinner at their restaurant, well it will never happen at the Hilltop Tavern and Inn. I packed up my stuff first thing in the morning and called Hotels . Com to find me a room with a pool. I ended up in Barstow with early checkin. I am asking for a refund for the hoffible treatment I received. Oh, and bring ear plugs, the walls are paper thin. So, I got a response, Shalon's automated response, slandering me. I did not break any policies nor disrupt any guests. Please see my Yelp review. Thanks for reading. SHAME ON THIS PLACE.

Best views in the high desert. Cute, affordable rooms, accommodating staff. Only issue is that you can hear everything between rooms... Need sound proofing lol. Little hard to find too if you don't know the area already. Love this gem 👍
