Brooklyn Warehouse Reviews

Went to see Anjunabeats in April of 2017. The outside of the building is discreet and looks like a warehouse. There are no signs (that I noticed) that said we made it to the right building. We arrived when the doors were scheduled to open (9 pm) but nothing was open yet. It took ~20 minutes for the workers to drag out some metal fencing and get a line set up. Finally inside, there was a coat check, port-a-potties, some overpriced vendor booths ($30 t-shirts), and drink stands. The stage is small but sufficient with strobe lights and colored lights. Sound at the venue was good. It felt like the bass kept getting turned up with every passing hour to the point where I couldn't really hear melodies of the tracks, just the bass. Perhaps this was to compensate for the increasing crowd of people on the dancefloor. Although we started the night quite close to the stage, the crowd slowly filled in around us and eventually we were pushed backwards by a rude group of people. We moved to the very back and enjoyed having lots of space, but, again, after another 2 hours the crowd filled in around us and I kept getting elbowed in the crotch by an Asian guy dancing in front of me. By 1:30 am I was sufficiently tired and was not enjoying the music as much due to the crowd, so we left. Really wanted to see Mat Zo though, kinda wished we stayed. It was a good experience, definitely would come back.
