The Cadillac palace is a beautiful theater! We have seen several shows over the year and have thoroughly enjoyed each time we have attended a show. The interior of the Cadillac palace lobby is stunning. The layout of the house leads to several seats that have limited or obstructed views of the stage. I would not recommend sitting in the back of the orchestra or the mezzanine as the overhand above you blocks the stage views.

We had a great time with our family of 7. We saw the Hip Hop Nutcracker. There was plenty of staff and security on hand to help people I. And to their seats. The users were kind. It was clean and well kept. We were up in the middle level and could see well. We would come here again

Well let's start with this, the Cadillac Palace is an amazing theater. The Ambiance is amazing! The employees are amazing! The layout is amazing and ultimately you probably wondering why I gave it three stars when I keep saying how amazing the place is. Well the Cadillac Palace in Chicago Illinois has one huge major problem, and their problem is the size of the seats. If you're any taller than 5 8, it's going to be highly uncomfortable sitting in those seats. I don't know if they have Landmark status or whatever but they are going to have to upgrade those seats at some point. They host the amazing plays and shows but how can you really enjoy them when you crammed in some third grade seats? The best way to describe the situation is treating it like you're going to an expensive restaurant and the food is delicious but they serve it to you on a paper plate. If the Cadillac Palace ever decides to upgrade their seats for people that are on the average 6 ft or 6 2 they'll be the best theater in the Midwest. Just to recap the Cadillac Palace is amazing but until they make that upgrade it's it's it's tough.

*Long Post* This is a beautiful theater. I've attended quite a few plays/musicals over a span of 10 years at this theater & never had any complaints... well, in the month of December 2023, I attended two musicals. On 11/09/23 & 12/29/23 the treatment really shocked me & angered me at the 1st one. First, I'll will say I was unaware of the new security metal detectors put in place about 4 months ago, which I found out during the 2nd visit. December 9th, myself & 4 others, two of them being my 4yro & 8yro daughters, attended The Wiz 8pm show, we met up with a group of about 60 people. Arriving there 20mins before the show started I parked across the street. We walk up to a huge crowd of people just standing outside est. about 100+ people I'm not exaggerating. Security only had ONE door open to let over 100+ people inside. Only ONE door open with people trying to squeeze & push inside. All I could do was shake my head in disbelief along with others that also said they've never experienced thia treatment. It took us the entire 20mins trying to get inside. At this point, my 4yro is crying because she's cold & standing outside for 20mins in the cold. She kept asking why can't we go in mommy. We get in the hall again, & only two doors open. Security was doing purse checks understandable, but then I saw them wanding people down w/ the security wands. Now this infuriated me because at this point I didn't know about the new metal detection put in place & I NEVER seen them wanding people down. May I add black Chicago showed up for The Wiz!! Everyone looked absolutely beautiful! So of course my mind definitely takes me there - Of all the years attending plays there, I've never seen that much security put in place. After the play, we were immediately kicked out & they even turned the lights out on us within 10mins. I didn't have a chance to take a picture afterwards. I did get some though during a bathroom break & intermission. The whole thing left me shocked & ANGERED. Now let's get to Dec. 29th How The Grinch Stole Christmas...this was a Christmas present to my girls we attended the 730pm show. Now let me tell you how the 1st event traumatized my 4yo. In the e-way there she asks whete are we going. I tell her it's at the same theater we went to last time to see The Wiz. My poor baby bursts out in tears, screaming, "I dont want to go there. We're going to have to stand outside in the cold." I'm reassuring her we won't & praying it's not the same. we parked a block or so away 4min walk. My almost 5yro yro is still crying cause she's literally traumatized & may I add she's been coming to plays since she was 2yro, so she's never witnessed this either. We did arrive late at 735. I had a friend waiting for me with her tickets inside the hall of the 1st doors since 7:10pm. I asked her about security & the doors. She said ALL the doors were open. They didn't check anyone's purse nor pat/wand people down. They let her stand in the hall to wait for me. As I go to the ticket booth (I misplaced 2 other tickets we were a party of 7), I see the security just sitting in a chair on his phone. I asked about the metal detectors & he said they came about 4months ago. I asked how do they pick which plays they do all the extra security on. He said I just do what im told....Again I just shook my head. I know the reason, & most black people who attended The Wiz play knew the reason. I was very disappointed in the Cadillac Palce theater at that moment. I am thankful for the security dont get me wrong but to compare the plays, mainly the doors being open and the patting and wanding down it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Visited the theatre for The Wiz musical play. It was a great remake while making it current. Great acting, dancing and comedy. A must see! Scarecrow and Tin man were the stand out cast members. Convenient parking nearby. Decent snacks and drinks available. Process to get in (ticket scan /security) was a bit long.
