St. Clement's Island Museum Concerts

Driving from Annapolis, going on the boat to the island was the main event and there were no boats available today which was pretty disappointing. Museum itself was neat to see and learn of the history of the island ($3 admission for six and up). There was also a schoolhouse to visit est. 1820 (moved to location). A great experience for homeschooling families but the inconsistent availability of the boat trip to island can be frustrating.

A nice, small museum that has a good video describing the importance of St Clements Island and it's place in history. History nerds like me will love it...

I just did a photo shoot with Robin as my photographer for her school project. Over 100 photos was the assignment, but she can only do her presentation with 2 photos. We did it at the historic Colton's Point, on the main land right by the island, and Bushwood Wharf (right down from our house). The museum for St. Clement's Island had perfect places for formal and candid photos.

Definitely worth it to come check out. I recommend paying the $7 for the additional boat ride and getting able to walk across the island. I can't believe it was once 400+ acres. When you get off the boat head left and walk around the island (15min walk) and see the big cross and light house. There are many picturesque spots as well. The museum is also good and they have a video that explains a lot. Also staff was very friendly as well.

This was a great place to visit to learn about the beginnings of Maryland. There's a lot to see in what at first appears to be a small museum. Make sure to plan a lot more time out on St Clement's Island because there's a lot of walking.
