The Basement Reviews

I recently visited The Basement for the first time and the experience was unforgettable because of the featured performers and the crowd. The is no seating near the stage, but near the stage is the best view. There is limited seating. The opening act was Columbus’ own the beautiful & talented Ms. N’Shai Iman. The headliner the one and only Daley. Dimmer than normal lighting. Decent sound. Cement floors near stage. Long bar. Decent drinks. Psychedelic decor. Nearby parking for a fee.

Very small, intimate venue. There were less than 50 people at the show, one bartender, and a few staff members. The staff were courteous, the venue and bathrooms were clean. Would definitely go again! Photos attached were from standing front row in the pit.

The security staff were incredibly rude, sent me back to the car garage because my bag was slightly too big (it was very small on the inside). The security guy was needlessly yelling at everyone acting like we were in some high risk security situation when it was literally just a show full of emo kids. When I got in the venue itself after being sent back I couldn't see anything from the back of the show because the stage is at the same level as the whole building so unless you're really tall you weren't gonna see a thing. Definitely not worth a 2 hr trip. If you can't be the first 20 or 30 people in the venue, don't bother going. Also the girls bathroom toilets didn't really flush and I had to hold the stall door because it didn't lock.

Unless you’re fine with standing in place to look at pillars or the back of other peoples heads, don’t pay more than $20 for a ticket here, no matter who is playing, you won’t be seeing anything. A sold out show shouldn’t be happening in a building where maybe 50 people have stage visibility.
