One of my favorite places to visit! Lots of history. Outstanding staff, bar, venue, and they pick great movies to play! Love their Cinéwild showings! Super cool place, my favorite cocktail they make is called an Aviation!

This was my first time to visit this historic theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested back in 1963. We were at a special event to award students that had created their own short films. The competition was good as the young film directors, actors, and participants all watched to see who would win. This theater was the best venue to display their short videos. Concessions were good and the place had a good old time feel. I’ll be back for more.

Was such a joy to experience the SGU during the eclipse! I can’t believe how amazing and quaint this place is. The atmosphere and the people were great. They have an upstairs and lower level bars. 10/10 recommend.

I came over from the UK to visit the JFK sites but was in awe of the Texas Theatre. As well as it’s history the theatre is a great place to watch a film. The staff are great and the films on offer are superb. I spent a couple of evenings soaking up the history and watching the movies. The place has so much character.

Bowie-oke ( karaoke). Nuff said. This theatre is a classic for the area. I missed the original time when the David Bowie movie was released. I am a huge independent movie fan and it made me happy to see this movie in my neighborhood. #OakCliff The #9 Cockrell Hill (Southbound) #9 Lakewood (Northbound) for DART.
