If you know you know. McMenamins rooms are always well kept and comfy. Grand Lodge itself is a treasure. It’s wonderful waking up in the morning and finding a quiet sitting area to drink coffee, look out the window at blooming flowers and trees, and listen to birds chirp. Of course the evening fun can’t be forgotten. Pick your adventure. A delicious northwest inspired dinner at the Ironwork Grill. Live, intimate music in the basement, cocktails and vinyl upstairs, relaxing with a water jet in the steamy soaking pool, or whisky and a cigar by the fire pits. Epic place to relax for a Portland area staycation.

A fun and sweet little getaway with my babe! 💁🏻♀️: The staff were very fun, friendly and helpful! 🍗: The food wasn't bad. 🏚️: The atmosphere was unique and a little creepy. Definitely worth the trip. The pool was nice at night. Walking around the mansion was interesting. The environment is rad. 🪟: The rooms aren't for everyone but I can appreciate them for what they are. 🥃: The drinks were drinks..

We came here for my partner's birthday. So far I've only been to Kennedy School and now the Grand Lodge. I would definitely say the Grand Lodge is my favorite place to stay!!! There are a few secret passageways in the attic which are supposedly home to the Lavender lady, whose ghost is seen by some of the locals. The story is that she used to leave books to the residents at the elderly home and would leave a scent or trail of lavender throughout the hallways. Other strange stories are jars mysteriously being thrown from shelves and smashing into the floor. They have the best Bloody Mary's! This was one of my first times having a Bloody Mary for breakfast and it was delicious. The eggs Benedict also delicious. The fruit bar dessert was also very very tasty. You can take your drinks outside and walk the gardens, which we did in the morning. At night we ordered the New York steak, Fungi macaroni and cheese, soup of the day (Pork corn chowder) with a hot toddy and hot pear cider. I tried both and loved the pear cider more. We visited the Japanese Soaking tub for about a half hour late at night and it was quiet, as children are not allowed after a certain point (8pm? I can't remember). There is a theater there as well that has normal movie ticket prices because they play the latest films, unlike Kennedy School which plays old films at matinee prices. We didn't stay long (only one night) and we were sick, therefore I'd love to come back when we aren't feeling under the weather next time around.

Beautiful property, great people! Can't recommend it enough. The bartenders especially have gone out of their way to give a great experience. I always make an effort to stop here when I'm in the area!

Stayed here last year and enjoyed the stay. Went to movie, got some food in the theater and breakfast in the restaurant. Kinda like the rooms have no tvs. Stayed in king room with sofa pull out. Liked walking around the places and finding the hidden room and staircase! Also liked the ‘pool’ outside. Lots to do!
