I really enjoyed my short visit to Holliday Park. For me, the best part was the short hiking trails leading down to the river and that area. Nice woods, well-maintained trails, and some nice views. The nature center seemed more promising than it was, as it turned out to really just be a small kids' play area and a lot of offices. The ruins were intriguing, but the actual history was less interesting (though weirder) than I imagined. The kids' outdoor playgrounds looked like they're probably great, but I wasn't there with my kids. So, overall the hiking trails were the best. Very peaceful, only a handful of other people on them, and beautiful forest.

Today I did a little exploring at the park. The ruins were nice and I can't wait to come back and visit in the spring when things are prettier. I found a great bench to have lunch and enjoy the sunshine. And then went and started on the trails behind the playground which I believe are trails one and two. I eventually got on to trail three and made my way to the back of the nature center which was closed and the rock garden. A few days ago there was snow so the trail was reasonably sloppy in spots but still in great condition.

I love this trail; you feel disconnected and immersed in nature. There are plenty of birds, and you can get a good workout with the different levels of the landscape. It's shaded and can be muddy in some places. The nature center is great, and it's family-friendly.

We stayed in the Fischers area. So the drive here was about 35 minutes. We attended this park in March while we were in the city for a volleyball tournament. We wanted to get out of our hotel and do some exploring. The area this park is nestled in is beautiful. Lots of old castle looking like homes. The park is wonderful. There's a giant play structure for the kids to play on.. But we were there for the nature walking trails. So fun, definitely an adventure walking through the woods. I can only imagine what it would be like when all the trees are covered with leaves and it's all green. I highly recommend. The old ruins are neat too. We didn't have a lot of time to explore. We were there for about an hour. I'd definitely give yourself more time to explore everything the park has to offer!

Holliday Park is beautiful, family friendly and clean. I love bringing my family for walking trails, picnics and the playground.
