Grewal Hall at 224 Reviews

We saw Free Throw, Charmer, Prince Daddy & the Hyenas, and Saturdays at Your Place. The venue is awesome! We were on the balcony and had an awesome view of the band the entire time. So excited to have a venue back in Lansing again! ♥️

Good start but needs refinement. Basically the Loft 2.0 Big space, almost no seating, VERY small and expensive drink menu. Stage, sound and lights are mediocre. The stage could easily be 1-2 feet higher. The staff were professional and friendly. Overall the place lacks character. The metal platform is cool. The acoustics need serious help. All the hard surfaces act like a bass cannon, cool for DJs but not good for true live music. Compared to venues like the Machine Shop in Flint and elevation in Grand Rapids it falls short. No venue parking but being a downtown venue there's nothing to be done about that. If it's a busy night in the area expect a bit of a walk. Three stars and one of them was entirely for the professional staff.

Seen my first show here!! Tom Green was absolutely hilarious. Thank you Grewal Hall for booking his 1st stop in the 517. Looking forward to more shows in the future!

Opening a new business is hard. But as a professional touring musician, I’ve seen it time and time again: a venue opens in an up and coming neighborhood - and then 10 years later, the area is completely revitalized. Downtown Lansing has been is desperate need of development and this is a huge step. If I had the money, I’d be buying a building down here. If this venue succeeds, which I imagine it will, downtown is going to be much different place in the coming years. Got to check the venue out (my band is playing here on NYE). It’s gorgeous. DB T8 line arrays (aka it’s going to sound excellent across many different genres, from folks bands to festival bass music DJs. The room is spacious and is well lit from the front. Big open bar and it’s easy to get around. The balcony floor will perfect for those with mobility issues. But yeah, the folks behind this project are all veteran live music industry pros - and there couldn’t be a better team behind the venue. Gonna be a great place to see shows!

Great intimate venue! Saw big G tonight and I have to say amazing job! The venue was clean and spacious, bathrooms were clean and big, the security was handing out water to the crowd and was quick to react when some shoving went down in the crowd. I would just remmoned getting a metal detector and check peoples bags just for safety
