Hollywood Forever Cemetery Reviews

An absolute must see in Los Angeles! The staff is super friendly and helpful. We asked the Gift Shop manager for directions to a general location in the cemetery and she knew exactly whose crypt it was, gave us impecable directions (it’s not very easy to find), and called to make sure the space was open before sending us on our way. An absolute delight. The cemetery is everything you think it will be and so much more. Do not miss their outdoor film series!

This is an ordinary cemetery with the exception of about a hundred Hollywood luminaries who decided to take their final curtain call at this very place by exiting stage left and then jumping into a six foot deep hole in the ground. Don’t expect these stiffs to be neatly buried in one section; they are not. Instead, they are scattered about the lot. So you will need to track them down, and I mean six feet down. Parking is simple, just pull along side the curb of the cemetery roads and get out. Walking in the cemetery’s uneven grass, which easily compresses under your weight, may be a challenge to individuals with mobility issues who, if not careful, might just find themselves bunkmates with local ghost resident Mickey Rooney. I did not do so, but a walking tour would have made this a more enjoyable and fruitful experience.

Been coming here since 2004.. Big improvements since then n better maintained since new owners have taken over. If your a tourist n wish to have a walking tour, none is available at this time. I may be able to help with this come the spring this year.. But till then ... Put on some comforting footwear, stop by the gift shop, buy a map n your ready to explore this fascinating park. Lots of Celebrities in entertainment & many of the founders of L.A. Take your time W your phone go to the website n search the name on the marker to learn more about the person/s Interned there.. Really educational n reveling about those of interest to you... If not enough to satisfy your curiosity about them.. Google them to learn more.. Have my favorites n visit them regularly.. For the paranormal types? Your in for a treat... Many residents still around for one reason or another ( famous n not ). Evp's n orbs are normal occurances.. But if conducting this activity, PLEASE 🙏 be respectful of both the living n the dead... Drop by if your a tourist n get closer to your favorite stars then you probably ever would in life... If your a local.... Come on by to enjoy a afternoon picnic w family n friends or an early morning walk for miles Peaceful n quiet... Great place to think, ask advice of the residents or just hide from the world to rebalance yourself.. I do martial arts ( mostly like Ti chi) there regularly ... Great energy to assist .. Love this place... Read the message from one of the photos I post.. If only to visit this individual?.. After you read the message... You'd know why I would still go by at least once a month to say thank you for her pure 💛 Find her n say hi... Don't be shocked 🙄 if she answers!! Lol... Look forward to taking you on a fascinating walking tour in the near future... To the owners... ***** In revitalizing the park for business reasons n at the same time, having a place of remembering your loved ones ( famous or not ) in dignity. Great Job 👍🫡 🇺🇸✨️🇵🇱

A unique and historic cemetery. Many showbiz people are buried here, from some of the biggest stars of all time to others from the Golden Age whose names are rarely heard anymore. Also many non-celebrities. The grounds are peaceful. If you like cemeteries, this is worth a visit. Enter from Santa Monica Boulevard.
