Cook's Garage Reviews

We love going here for concerts. We always hit up the restaurant before the show, at least when it is open, then enjoy the show after. I think we've gone here for eight shows already and we got another on August 9th. Oliver Anthony's show was awesome because I had just commented on one of his videos that he should come to Cook's, two weeks later Cook's announced that he was coming. This place is always a good time.

We did not eat here, seen Willie here last night and it was a fantastic set up. It did not disappoint, however they need to work on their parking into the venue....Took forever! They had plenty of Pottys, lots of Beer and Food stands. Really well thought out and staffed

I love visiting place that completely assaults my senses, especially the visual component. Cook’s Garage does just that. It put me in sensory overload. There is so much eye candy here to absorb that it’s easy to lose track of time, and completely overlook the food and beverage component of the service offering. Cook’s Garage is simultaneously concert venue (both indoor and outdoor), restaurant, bar, and museum (both outdoor and indoor). It occupies several acres on Lubbock’s south side, and is one of the premier US collections of neon, gas station pole signs, and porcelain signs you could ever hope to see in one place. And as a side note, you can eat and drink here too, although it’s easy to overlook that while perusing all of the countless collectibles here to see. Lots of distractions! I was fortunate to meet Rusty’s glass bender, a woman named Rebecca, who has done the majority of the neon restorations here. She does amazing work, bringing the signs back to their former glory, including all the chaser bulbs and animations. My jaw dropped many times. I had a basic lunch while here. I am not one for standard pub food, but that’s OK if it’s your jam. My server was extremely polite and methodical in making sure I was happy with a basic salad of greens and veggies, along with a baked potato. A couple of Hopadillos helped wash it all down. You can’t come here expecting to eat and run. Nope. There’s waaaaay too much to see and appreciate, and Mr. Cook has done a yeoman’s job of assembling a top tier collection and making it accessible to the masses. Bravo! I will be back!

Drove almost 6hrs for Willie Nelson. Had no idea what to expect, outdoor concert and all... Parking was a short walk from the venue. Free, in a field, along with farm equipment 🚜 Was perfect for a Willie Nelson concert, right? Outdoor venue was pretty full when we arrived yet we were able to get a decent area to set up our chairs. Acoustics, great. Can't imagine a bad seat anywhere. Next time Willie plays Cook's Garage, I'll drive to Lubbock just to see him again. Plus, I need to check out the restaurant!

This is a unique locally owned place that you must see!! What a cool atmosphere with fast friendly service. Additionally, the live music is not overbearing. It's nice.
