Macon City Auditorium Concerts 2024-2025

Place is clean, well staffed, tons of refreshment stands and bathrooms. Great acoustics and sound system is good. Tonight the AC did not work! Place was a tropical mess. That blur is Bonnie Raitt. You are not allowed to take videos or photos, and they politely tell you!

A building was A historical building. The appearance was particularly southern very nice. Sound there was excellent. The employees were very casual and helpful. There was plenty of parking on the street. I had a really good time.

Place needs some updating. Also balcony seating was very tight. I barely had room for my legs, and I am a 5'3" woman. My knees were touching the back of the seat in front of me. I don't see how a man would fit in these seats.

The concert on 3/8/2024was great, BUT... it felt like they were trying to put a chair into every available square inch. Worse than flying a budget airline! At times we had to sit a little sideways to get relief from pressing against other people. Main aisles only had enough room for one, maybe two people, and I saw people fall into other people's laps as they tried to leave their row. And no air conditioning! Or, at least, not much. The artist must have commented a dozen times about the heat. Not sure if I'll attend another concert here, especially after driving an hour. All that said, sound was really good and other than just 1 bathroom area seemed like a nice location. Just wish it were run better.

Venue was easy enough to get in and out of but some of the policies seemed to be enforced randomly. Metal detectors are just for show... My steel core belt is always an issue but not here. The sound Engineer had the bass cranked up far too high and it was scorching hot inside. Balcony seats are too tightly crammed in... Decent acoustics once the show started. I'm 5'5 and my knees were constantly bumping into the guy in front of me.
