I went to an amazing Motion City Soundtrack, New Found Glory, and The All American Rejects concert at the Great Saltair. This was my first time at the venue and it was such a great spot for a show. The sun set while the first band played and it was a beautiful view. The main crowd area is flat so visibility isn't that great. If you can find room on the crowded balcony, or on top of the steps in the back, then you will have great visibility of the stage. Parking was free.

What an interesting and strange place this was. Unfortunately the venue itself wasn't open, but the history and the architecture on the shores of the Great Salt Lake was cool and dystopian at the same time.

Went for a concert. The concert was amazing. So, this review has nothing to do with the performance. However, the venue was extremely hot and is not air conditioned. They have swamp coolers and fans which made it really muggy. I'm surprised there were not more people passing out from heat exhaustion. One huge positive was the security people on the ground level were fabulous and were handing out ice water to anyone who needed it. I'm just not a huge fan of standing only venues anyway. The upstairs security was extremely rude. At one point I was told I could not stand where I was standing. I complied and moved but the security guard stood there yelling at me for about 2 minutes. About 5 minutes later another person went and stood there and no one said anything to them. So, I lost my better view of the show. Saltair, with its history in Utah has so much potential. It would be cool to see the owners invest in the space and make it a bit nicer for concerts. Add some A/C, keep the fans, add a seated area, and

Super cool old concert hall on the shores of the Great Salt Lake. A storied history is evident as you walk the grounds and you can't help seeing the ghosts of revelers past all around you. Well worth a quick stop to explore.
