Pros. Beautiful hotel. Plenty of food options. Lobby is stunning. Cons. They say they’re close to the convention center but they are definitely not. Door to door it is EASILY a 15 minute walk. They’re measuring distance corner to corner which is highly deceptive. You’ll need to take transportation to the convention hall if you’re here in the summer. Staff is unprofessional and unhelpful.

Great view from room and location is great but not the service. Be prepared to wait for everything and queue at reception every time your room key doesn’t work. Do not attempt to call concierge or reception as you will not receive an answer. Staff overworked although they are all wonderful.

We had a wonderful experience at Hilton thanks to Eric, supervisor at the front desk, Rico, and Reggie the bellmen. These specific individuals went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our total and complete satisfaction. We are grateful for their care and hospitality for our specific needs during our visit to New Orleans. They were wonderful ambassadors for the Hilton brand. They really showed us so much love. I’m in awe of the attention to detail of all 3 of these great men, but especially Eric ! Eric demonstrated so much patience for each of the customers before and after us, we got no less of the quality of service when it was our time. The rooms were immaculate and the ambiance was friendly and corporate, yet clean. We will definitely be staying here again. Cons: old hotel but a jewel that needs more TLC in certain areas. The escalators and elevators need to be in working immediately.

The worst experience at Hilton New Orleans Riverside, I probably got a racist front desk to check me in. 1. I booked my hotel from the conference website, which was much higher than the current price. I admitted to pay the first night which I paid weeks ago as a deposit. I would like them to cancel my rest two nights so I could rebook them at a much cheaper price, which I do that all the time with Marriott and IHG hotels. I was not allowed at Hilton New Orleans Riverside. 2. I requested a late check out, and only extended to 12pm. Other people got extended to 1 or 2 pm with the same credit card and as a member at Hilton honors. 3. I showed them my Hilton credit card and wanted them to add the stays into my account to have more points and they obviously did not do anything about it. 4. The front desk guy was busy with chatting with his colleagues and did not talk to me at all. 4. The housekeeping did not clean my room on May 3rd and did my housekeeping at 5PM on May 4th, which is insane. 5. The train ran all the time from the midnight to 4 am, I could not go to sleep at all. I would not book this hotel if I knew the train running from 12-4am every night. 6. The escalators were under maintenance all the time to cause all the inconveniences for waiting. 7. People who work in the hotel are very unprofessional and unfriendly. Very poor experience and could not find anything good to describe this hotel and I would not recommend to anyone I know at all. Disappointed, Mad and sad.

The location of this hotel is great if you're there for work at the convention center, and in walking distance of the French Quarter. Rooms were clean and the security and cleaning staff I ran into were incredibly nice. But two out of three buildings went so far away from the lobby. I felt like I spent half my walk just trying to get out of the hotel. Also, it has no accessible drinking water outside of the two small plastic bottles they give you when you have your roomed cleaned. So if you don't want housekeeping every day, you have to purchase $6 water from the lobby. There are no water fountains to fill your bottle. It was expensive to keep hydrated! There's also a rail line that literally goes between the hotel buildings. It's used by freight rail at all times of the day, so if your room faces the rail, you'll get woken up at least once a night by the rumbling ground and train honks. It can sound like a train is going through your room if get the right room on the second floor facing it. Personally, I love trains and I thought this was both hilarious and exciting. I know others didn't share my enthusiasm.
