Monmouth Park Concerts

Easy spot to get to. Free parking, and lots of it. Picnic area rentals are a great way to get a group together and have a fun day. No pets allowed. Coolers with beer are ok.

Monmouth Park is a fun spot for a little horse racing in the spring and summer. It feels like a bit of an older park, which can make some of the interior areas drafty and cold, but it's nice enough. Also, the food and beverage prices are wildly less than in New York City, so if you're coming from Manhattan you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, betting requires cash (unless you use the New Jersey betting app), and they have ATMs. That feels a bit annoying and antiquated but it works well enough to not be a huge pain.

Great day today. The Beer and BBQ festival was nice. Low crowds, which is perfect for a weekend day. There was plenty of space to walk around, eat, bet, and drink.

Good time betting on the horses. Got a beer and some hotdogs but nothing crazy. Inside very hot but a good time to do something different.

Racetrack near the NJ shore. Fun to watch the horses and jockeys walk between the paddock and the track. Two large connected buildings, Grandstand and Clubhouse, with multiple floors. Can take a while to learn where everything is. Beautiful grounds. Feels uniquely NJ to me.
