We attended our first concert experience at Barnato recently. We purchased GA tickets and we are so grateful we did so. The venue lends itself really well to an intimate concert experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and handled the high demand beautifully. Note, if you are paying premium prices for resevered seating, the views may be obstructed by GA ticket holders.

Contrary to common thought, you can go boujee in Omaha. They’ve created an excellent list of cocktails with a pack of Bentley waiting in the stable. It’s not what you expect but all the drinks were excellent, good balance, flavor and not over shaken or stirred. They also have a decent happy hour. Strangest part was the when we walked in, it was like walking into a saloon from the 1800’s where everyone stares at you the whole time as you find a seat. Guess they don’t get many celebrities in Nebraska lol.

New Year’s show with Paul Cauthen was a huge disappointment ($75/GA). Cauthen played the Admiral in Omaha a few months prior ($50/GA) with his full band and killed it (with Colby Acuff and his band opening). Barnato did not state that this was going to be an acoustic show. We brought a group of seven from out of town to rock the new year with Paul Cauthen and his killer band. The show was meh at best. Cauthen and Daniel Donato played acoustic guitars, seated on a floor-level stage, so they could not be seen by 80% of the attendees. Venue was severely overbooked and movement was almost impossible once the show started. Cauthen was engaging as usual but Donato’s guitar did not stand out in the mix and was difficult to hear; disappointing since he is a phenomenal electric guitar player. Barnato overcharged and under-performed for this New Year’s Eve event.

I have stopped into the Bentley dealership before to ogle at the cars, but I had never been into Barnato before. We attended the Amanda Shires concert recently, and I was very impressed. Barnato is a very nice, upscale and intimate concert venue. The staff were all warm, professional and skilled at their various roles. We got through the front door efficiently and got our questions answered without being hurried. The bar staff were consultative with our drink order, and we enjoyed the Speakeasy after the show too. It was a great night and definitely worth going again.

Definitely don’t plan on going here for any type of concerts or shows, not sure what they’re doing as a bushess selling “premium” priced ‘low’ top table tickets placed right behind an artists subwoofer and essentially almost behind the stage. Not sure how anyone would want to pay those prices again after seeing what you get. Maybe scoot your tables into viewing site of the artist next time if charging these insane prices for a “premium seat”. I’m so glad I was able to sit while being deafened by the subwoofer and barely being able to see the artist I came to see. Definitely will rethink buying any tickets that say “premium” going forward.
