Gerald Veasley's Unscripted Jazz Series at South Jazz Club Concerts 2024

Everything was delicious! You definitely need a reservation! But the experience is worth all the trouble! We only did dinner not the full jazz experience...but from where we were sitting we could see a little of the performance going on in the next room. Anyway..the food was delicious..drinks were good too. We shared the cornbread, & the jambalaya, both 10 out of 10 also shared the Mac & cheese & deviled eggs both were tasty but I'm not fond of garlic flavor in my mac..and the eggs were regular. The southern Caesar salad was delicious I definitely recommend, the short rib a 10 out of 10 even the next day. Fried chicken was delicious, very flavorful. The strawberry jam was my drink, just right tasty and strong!! Now I saved the best for last our serve was maybe the best part of our night she was amazing..and I'm a stickler for good customer service definitely 10 out of 10! I believe her name was Kayla..forgive me if I'm wrong. I truly want her to know how much we enjoyed her... although we did tell her!!

I have had the pleasure of visiting South for more than 5 years now, with at least 15 visits and counting. Great atmosphere, food, and extremely talented musicians. It never disappoints! I am definitely a loyal fan of this place! Do yourself a favor and just go!

I gave this review a three for various reasons. I have been here before so I expected the same good results. So first I decided to order the cornbread and the oyster florentine. The cornbread was delicious. The oysters had a extremely large amount of breadcrumbs. The sauce tasted funny and if that wasn't disappointing enough when I tried the mixed the spinach, sauce and oyster together it was extremely difficult to pull the oyster away from the shell and it had a large black piece of shell in the filling. The show well it wasn't pleasant either. The best part of my experience was the service. Kayla was wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, and was around frequently to make sure we were ok. You have a gem with her on your staff. She is and was the best. Hopefully, if I return I will have a better experience with the food and with the entertainment.

Nice environment, though crowded. Food was nice and a good portion, it was worth it. I had the buttered chicken ( I think ), only concern it was dry and I needed a gravy/ sauce. Loved the corn bread 🍞 😋. My service was absolutely wonderful and on time.

My first time there and was super impressed. The concert was unbelievable. Acoustics was perfect. Food fantastic. Drinks a bit overpriced for the serving amount, but good. Service superb.
