Laurel Cove Amphitheater Reviews

The most beautiful outdoor venue anywhere in Kentucky. Today we had it to ourselves; we were birding. Great place to see spring migrants! But rose petals strewn across the lawn showed us where someone got married yesterday. Nestled against the base of Pine Mountain, it is surrounded by native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers ...and the other living things that depend on this habitat. In addition to birds and butterflies, we heard two species of frogs. If you enjoy hiking, there is a trail that starts on the mountain ridge, near Chained Rock, and descends the side of the mountain, ending in Laurel Cove. It's worth visiting, just to see the place. (I've actually never attended an event there.) [Re: tickets. None are needed for a casual drop-in visit. It might be a good idea, if going to a big event.]

We visited Laurel Cove Amphitheater on our way to hike up to Chianed Rock. The area was amazingly tranquil and immaculately kept. The amp of the amphitheater is a large rock wall behind the staging area and the surrounding cove. The immediate area around the amphitheater features tons of seating, a beautiful forest, a pond with wildlife, rock caverns, cobble stone structures, picnic areas, a covered pavilion with fireplace, a creek and several bridges. The outer areas are all accessible from well-maintained trails that seem to sprawl in all directions. The amphitheater would be an awesome place to see a concert, host a wedding or other event, explore while empty, or use as a starting point to hike the many surrounding trails that lead up into the forest. There’s ample parking and the cove is very accessible to people of all skill levels, including small children. You could spend hours and hours here or just 10 minutes. It’s a wonderful place and highly recommended!

This place is BEAUTIFUL!! I came over here on a regular day, just exploring around. It was empty, just me and my family. I wish that was a band playing or a wedding. I went there with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. There are little lizards on the water. A little trail following the creek that leads to a picnic covered area. Just perfect little and easy outing to take little kids. There are plenty of parking spots and a public restroom.

Wow and wow. PS Do not drink here without a designateddriver! It is up in the hills! Mini bus service highly advisable =)
