Pioneer Courthouse Square Reviews

I've never been to Pioneer Courthouse Square during the holidays. I was extremely disappointed that there wasn't more decorating and was always told that it's beautiful during the holidays. There was a fence all the way around it which made what could have been a beautiful holiday scene for the center of Portland, very ugly like it was under construction even though it wasn't in the only decorations for giant Christmas ornaments in the fountain in front of the tournament office and the Christmas tree. And for as many Max stops around the block there should be at least one or two porta potties and a public restroom which there is not.

The Christmas display at Pioneer Square is an absolute winter wonderland! The centerpiece, a gigantic and beautifully decorated Christmas tree, is truly a sight to behold. It's adorned with countless twinkling lights that bring a magical glow to the area. The surrounding lightings add to the festive ambiance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that captures the spirit of the holiday season. This spot has become a must-visit destination for me during the Christmas period, perfect for both family outings and romantic evening strolls. Highly recommend for anyone looking to immerse themselves in holiday cheer!

Very centrally located right next to Starbucks. That said parking is challenging. I had to drive around a few times to find space. Light Festival is a great event to go here. It was very crowded last time I was there.

Great when the sun is out. Good food trucks on one side, Tacos Fita is amazing. Fried Egg I'm in Love is cheaper than the Hawthorne location. The cheesesteak cart has one of the best Reubens I've had, no lie. Plenty of room to enjoy people watching.

I’ve been coming here for events ever since I was a little kid and it’s still “the” best place for events in Portland. From the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to the many other events held here it always has a special place in my heart and is a major historical site for this city. I would have loved to be alive when the hotel was open I bet it was so beautiful. I’m not really sure why they ever tore it down but I guess I’m glad that there is free place for events to take place in Portland. It what’s makes this city special and is a place for people of all different walks of life to congregate in one place! I love looking at the bricks with the peoples names on it, each one represents $15+ dollars that funded the construction of the project. There was a time when there wasn’t enough money to complete it, so they did a fundraiser with the bricks, a very creative way to raise the money for what is now Pioneer Courthouse Square.
