Virginia Street Brewhouse Reviews

9.22.23: I've been to this venue several times over the years and its name has changed a handful of times due to switching of ownership. Most people would probably be more familiar if you said the old Knitting Factory. Anyways, I went for a concert and had no complaints with the sound. Bass sounded great and didn't sound blown out. It wasn't super packed so there was actually room to dance some, so that was a positive. The complaint I do have that happens on a regular basis is not utilizing the air conditioner when it starts to get hot and sweaty from everyone dancing and breathing heavier. I get businesses that want to save money but this is a complete pet peeve and puts people at risk for overheating and passing out. This is the reason I give it 3 stars. I saw The Expendables and Bumpin Uglies, who both put on excellent shows in general. The video I shared was the opener, Claire Wright, a Tahoe local. I pre-gamed elsewhere so I didn't order any alcohol from the bar and can't speak on the bar service this time. The bathroom was clean and stocked. If you're a live music lover, then it won't stop you from attending a concert wherever it may be, however, atmosphere and being comfortable are pretty important aspects when reviewing a venue.

Enjoyed the music in the upstairs and the downstairs venue. WhiIe I was there I heard more than two people complaining about the service they got from the bartenders because of their attitude. You can count me in too. Didn't like their attitude. Local DJs upstairs were killer 🔥🔥

NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE UNDER 21. they automatically send the people under 21 upstairs. If ur not on the rail you can’t see a single thing. Makes no sense why they do that. Might as well make it 21+ and up only. If you’re under 21 you can’t see nothing. There’s a bar upstairs too and down stairs. This is the first and only venue I’ve been at that’s like this. Not worth your money. I spent $135 for this and this was my view.

18+ CONCERTS ARE NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY Do not go to an 18+ concert here. The venue has two floors, with the second floor having a VERY (and I cannot understate that more) poor view of the stage. If you aren’t rail riding, you can’t see anything. People 21 and older are permitted to stand in front of the stage like any other concert, but those 20 and under are escorted by security into a stuffy, uncomfortable loft upstairs. Once at the top, patrons are told that they cannot go downstairs for any reason. Reasonably, I suspected that once the concert ended I’d be able to go back to my car, but I was forced to stay up in that loft until security instructed otherwise. Concerts for 21+ should be more enjoyable, but if you’re 18-20 looking for a good show this venue is definitely not the place. They only care about money from alcohol sales, not the show experience in the slightest. The tickets may be cheap, but in my opinion, no money is worth watching a band on screens while you’re in the same room as them.

Literally no room to see if you are under 21 and sent upstairs. You are not allowed downstairs whatsoever simply because you aren’t 21. DISCRIMINATION!!!! Do not waste your money on concert tickets here. WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MINOR MONEY.
