Lucca Winery Reviews

Great experience, super nice place, amazing choice, and the best part is that it's local. John was super awesome and knowledgeable. Highly recommended

Honestly needs to be said. I tried 24 wines here and I am giving it a 1 start because these are some of the worst wines I have ever tried. The whites are beyond terrible and all resemble a strange urine and asparagus taste. The ambiance and location are lovely so if you are going for that the safe wines are the Syrah and petite Sirah. Pretty much everything else has a really off smell and taste. Be aware if you are into wine and have tasted anything else. If not you may enjoy this place. Staff and location are nice it’s just the product that is getting this review.

Great find. When looking for the winery in Modesto area I come cross this little family own vineyard. Great service, interesting vines a lot of different varieties of it. Wish could stop there on Saturday when they have live music.

I have visited this local winery on numerous occasions over the years. It is nice to have a place that offers wine tasting so close to home. The wines are drinkable for the most part, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. This past Sunday it was so sunny and lovely out, we thoght it would be nice to sit outdoors somewhere and enjoy the beautiful spring-like weather. We decided to go to Lucca instead of heading up to Knights Ferry because our 6 month old shelter rescue had been experiencing some car sickness on windy roads, but was fine on the straightaway. It is still a twenty five minute drive for us. But it was so pretty with all the almonds in bloom. We arrived and settled in at a table outdoors. A gentleman came out and took our tasting order. I mentioned that their wooden sign now had " no pets" scrawled on it...... and asked if our docile, well - behaved chihuahua/Pug pup was welcome. " Oh, yeah he's ok. " , he said. Then , Mark, the owner came out and told us we had to leave. I said I was not aware that they had adopted a no pet policy and asked if we could stay just for todaysince we had already driven out there. I offered to hold my pup on my lap. " No. I'm sorry", he said. " Why?", I asked. " Because we have dogs. Winery dogs." Apparently he has dog-aggresive winery dogs he can't control. Great idea. Guess they can't be kept away from guests and their dogs the few hours the winery is open on the weekends. Okay. You want them to be able to have the run of their own place all the time. I get it. And I would have known not to bring my dog going forward. . But to make customers leave - when they are already there, and weren't aware of the new policy - is rude, and unfair. We won't be back.

The visit at The Lucca Winery was awesome an it was my baby sister birthday Felicite as well as both of our first time going to a winery an a wine tasting. When we first walked in we were greeted by a warm welcome by Mr. Chuck which gave us a lot of information on the company an the owner. Of course we cannot leave out the two darling sweethearts Mr. Don & Mrs. Gail who served us our wine an shared with us the names of the wines an how the wines were named. Very informative great conversation an such kind spirits. Thanks again you guys for such a warm welcoming an great tasting wine. May God continue to bless an expand the business.
