Gallivan Center Reviews

Went to check out GLOW. It's always nice to see art installations which celebrate diversity. As an aside, I don't know how long Salt Lake City keeps its Christmas trees up but this is definitely the latest I've seen them anywhere.

A fun wintery family activity. Concessions were a bit more lackluster than typical concessions, but had all of the expected items. My hot dog had a rock hard bun, which was a bummer especially for the price compared to a gas station. There is also limited covered seating, which wasn't a big deal to us but worth consideration for anyone wanting to watch their loved ones skate but not participate. However, everyone was friendly, music was playing the entire time, they have bathrooms and lockers for rent, and the rink itself is fantastic. The rink has a metal hand rail around the entire thing except the entrance/exit gate, which made learning and building confidence much easier. The rails are short enough for my petite kindergartener to comfortably reach. Bring waterproof or water resistant gloves, as the hand rails get cold and often wet from wet gloves grabbing onto them. We went during the day and had the rink to ourselves for a while (on a Sunday!) but my kids have been asking to go back, especially at night, multiple times since we went.

Lovely and charming patio to walk and enjoy the lights and the walk of passersby. A nice environment to skate. Easy access and parking.

We attended salsa dancing lessons here on Tuesdays. The classes were fairly small, and the instructor gave us just a little more than we could handle. It was perfect! It was also a great place to take your date. On a side note, there were several single, younger people there taking dance lessons by themselves. It might be a great place to meet someone new as well. I definitely recommend it.
