Gregarious saloon with a broad spectrum of local and traveling musical artists. Beer and a full bar do the trick.

Beautiful old bar in an area of the city without beautiful old bars... Nice enough for Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe to visit on Friday nights when they were together!

Big shout-out to the bartender and crew working this bar! Definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Friendly patrons and bartenders. I had two items from the appetizer menu, both super carefully prepared and tasty. Found a gem in the craft beer selection and couldn't help breaking my just-one-beer resolution. I was a bit early for the music, and took the recommendation to enjoy the upstairs seating looking out over the bands. This is a great bird's-eye view for drinking in what everyone on the stage is doing - I just wish I'd snapped more pics for them and it would have been very un-intrusive (afterwards my friends were like "Wait ... you were there the whole time?"). Overall, the venue and bar were very cozy and welcoming with possibly century-old wood everywhere with details and patinas that can set off your imagination. There are some carved logos on the wall above the bar that seem intriguing, and the rows of premium liquids alternate with shelves of interesting little memorabilia. Between Bart and the #8 bus it is quite reachable.

At last.. a peaceful place to read my book and hide from the ugly weather while sipping on a cozy Irish coffee and hot toddy. The kitchen has new hours now. 4-11pm I believe. (So I waited a little until they were open and boy was it worth it.) 😃 Fried chicken sandwich was sooo good! I got extra pickles on mine because why not! Highly recommend!
