I used to see this building from the outside, during the fanime con days. I never saw inside San Jose Civic until last night. What a delightful venue this place was. The staff were very kind (I wish I knew the names of the ladies who helped me with a ticket issue). Inside, it was super spacious, I loved the section I was in in Section 103. Very good seats, too. It wasn't the front row, but it was close enough. But can we appreciate the halls of that place. All those great performers and, most of all, the great musicians. It was super overwhelming to see all of that. I am grateful I got to go see and appreciate this building San Jose Civic. I look forward for the next show at this location. Thank you for a concert I shall never forget. 🙏

Absolutely fantastic venue! Imagine a smaller bill graham, except it's better managed, cleaner, and better staffed. I saw william black here and it was absolutely amazing. I would def come back here for the musical experience. The acoustics were solid as well as I didn't feel the sound being lost because of it just penetrating the walls.

Went to San Jose Civic for Timmy Trumpets Freakshow with will sparks and restricted supporting. We lined up about 30 minutes before doors. It was a lightly rainy night, and they had a good awning set up for ID checks with good lighting and visible security. ID checks started about 5 minutes before doors, allowing the first groups lined up to move to the ticket scan and security check. The ticket scan was straightforward, but the security check took quite some time. They are very thorough and will have you remove everything from your pockets, wand you down, and pat you down pretty effectively. Once inside the venue, there is a decent floor area, which is easy to dance on earlier in the night but can be very crowded during headliners. There is a section of seats on the ground level as well as wrap around 2nd floor seating. Sometimes all GA sometimes you have to buy specific seats or VIP show depending. The sound is fairly decent for these shows, earplugs reccomended. Visual screens vary depending on artists, but the venue itself has a nice large screen on the main stage and two very large monitors on the sides. Concessions and bars have decent offerings, but when we went to grab a beer the Stella was tapped on our cashiers side, and no one seemed to know whose job it was to fix it. $15 beer. There are some food options, including warm, fresh, baked cookies, which I thought was delightful. Restrooms were fairly clean. Water station available in smoking area. Security walks the floor and seats regularly. They checked in with a person who seemed to be sleeping to make sure they were OK but somehow missed this poor girl losing her dinner a few rows over. Overall, it is a decent venue, but security checks can be a little invasive. Oh, also nearby parking at Civic Center station was quality.

Attended dancing with the stars live the other night. I have to say this is a great venue. Clean and staff were so kind. I work live events and work free lance with many local venues and this is one of my favorites just due to staff alone. They are always on top of everything. I met a gentleman named I believe Ralph who was so helpful to the our vip crowd for the show. He explained how if we kept our vip passes on we could leave and come back before doors and even showed us where the concession stands were in case we didn’t want to leave. He gave us recommendations of his favorite food at the venue. San Jose civic clearly does it right with picking staff. I can’t wait to come back!

I went with Elder Indigo Schumann- Curtis. It's fun to walk around the city at night! Enjoy the weather! There are a lot of things to see though. San Jose is a cultural capital in California!
