I have concert anxiety, so sharing my experience based on that. The venue has strong air conditioning and was cool inside when it was 80 degrees out. The inside is huge and spacious, separating the bar/merch area from the show. Disability seating was available with about 20 or so seats and a wheelchair ramp. Staff were everywhere and easily identifiable. During my show, I had a panic attack, and had to step out of the crowd and sit on the floor for a minute. In less than 60 seconds, two members of staff approached to check on me and see if I needed anything. The acoustics could be better here but overall I thought the sound was fine and for an intimate show like Lizzy McAlpine, it was not a big deal. Also, there was a guy wearing a security vest outside the venue who told me when i go through the line, they would turn me away for my bag because of the clear bag policy. It was 6 inches long and perfectly within their requirements, but he just said “that’s bigger than 6 inches, there’s lockers over here you can store it in.” I think he was NOT associated with the venue and just trying to get people to buy locker space or clear bags at the vendors across the street, but in the moment I wasn’t sure, so I put my bag in the car and took the necessary stuff in my pockets. Later I saw people going inside with bags the size of mine. Use caution in trusting people who are not clearly associated with the venue in this area as they may be trying to get your money. The only major issue I had with this venue is that they change the trash bags out so frequently! Right in the middle of a very emotional song about the artist’s father who passed away, an employee came by and was rattling the trash can near me SO loudly as they changed the bags out. There were constant trash carts cutting from the right wall through the crowd. It was hard to stay focused on the show when every 3 minutes, an employee with a cart came rolling by in front of me.

Amazing venue to see shows at! Saw BTSM here and it was an incredible experience. 4 bathrooms was nice and a concession area to be able to take a break if needed. The back bar area is a nice touch to get away for a second and still see the show.

This venue has gotten a lot better over the years. I went to BOO the Halloween event and was very happy with my experience. The staff was all nice AND attentive to the patrons. Everyone was looking out for each other and I didn't see and strong handed security guards. The stages were set up in a way to lower "noise bleed." All in all I am happy with the venue, staff and production at WaMU. The worst part of coming here is the CLEAR BAG POLICY! be aware of that before packing all your things into your normal backpack. There are sellers outside the door selling clear bags if you forget.

We went to see the NF HOPE Tour here! The concert venue was amazing. I’m glad that it was general admission, because if it wasn’t we’d be in the back. It was tight, and there was a few people trying to sneak up to the front. But, the concert was amazing! The sound system was great, and the environment was crazy! Would definitely recommend coming to this concert venue if you don’t mind standing for a while. It was such a privilege to see NF here, as well as Cordae. Will be back for sure for future NF concerts.

This may have been a different location, but Showbox continues to provide a level of service that makes everything go smoothly. The concert-goers can attend knowing they can focus entirely on the show and not worry about any peripherals. Also, BTSM went insanely hard
