Westcott Theater Reviews

I’ve seen Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Cris Jacobs & the Kitchen Dwellers, and Badfish at the Westcott. I’ve never had a bad show here. The venue is extremely intimate but does not sacrifice sound quality. The majority of the workers and people I’ve met at the Westcott are laid back, easygoing, and relaxed. I really enjoy myself at the Westcott and I’m so thankful there is a small venue in Syracuse where we are able to see incredible national acts, truly cherishing and taking in the music. Thank you

I thoroughly enjoyed the show I saw at the Westcott Theater. The acoustics were surprisingly good considering the construction of the venue. I was, however, very disappointed in the VIP seating that I paid an exorbitant up charge for. I sat on a metal stool on a slanted floor that made for an exceedingly uncomfortable experience. These seats were to the left of the stage. There were VIP seats on a platform even further left of the stage. If I were to return to this venue, I would get permission to bring a lawn chair into the General Admission area. Hopefully, they would allow a senior citizen to do this.

My husband and I saw Lawrence here. The Lounge seats were on a raised platform to the left of the general audience and had cocktail tables and bar stools for seating. Excellent venue!

Great place for a show. Be aware of the slanted and sloped floor. It's is an old theater and the seats are removed. Long lasting standing shows will get your legs and back. In the winter when the smokers go outside they tend to leave the door open and the venue will cool off quickly. Typical old venue bathrooms (meaning they could use upgrades) and they are upstairs. Polite staff.

Cute venue, but they have NO handicap seating for concerts. It is either standing in the crowd or paying extra to sit in the VIP lounge. When I asked about where I could sit they gave me a metal folding chair and said anywhere along the rails of the floor, which was fine until everyone started pouring in and then all I could see was the backs of people. I wasn't able to even see the stage at that point so I paid the extra to sit in the VIP lounge, which I shouldn't have had to do. Even after paying to be in the VIP lounge it was a fight to find a place to sit since there was very limited seating available. Thankfully the people I was with were able to snag a seat for me while one of the stood. Half of the VIP lounge is standing space anyways. The whole point of the lounge area is the small seating section and if you pay x amount to get in there they serve you drinks all night. There was a non drinking option as well. There is a VIP bathroom on the main floor, but the actual bathrooms for if you don't pay VIP are upstairs. They told me I could use the VIP one so I wouldn't have to try to hobble my way up and down them. Mind you, this was after they saw me slowly trying to get up the stairs with my friend behind me to catch me if I fell. I will say though, the security were extremely pleasant and very friendly. They tried to accommodate me the best they could with what they were working with. The security staff is the only reason I'm giving it at least 3 stars. It felt as if they went above and beyond and I was super appreciative of them.
