Harrah's Resort Southern California Reviews

Plenty of machines. I think more people would come through the front doors if the casino floor had better ventilation. Tough to gamble & smell smoke the WHOLE time. No smoking section STILL smelled of cigarette smoke.

And here and spent the night to see a concert in the event center. (Godsmack) show was pretty much sold out. Room is was nice, the resort seems well maintained. The show was great! Despite having 2200 people showing up on a Tuesday for a show most of the restaurants were closed we planned on making an evening of it with a nice diner, some drinks maybe a little gambling and the concert. Ended up waiting 30 minutes in line for a fast food burger, another 30 minutes for a beer. After the show thy had 2 bars open (2200 people) and video slots for gaming. Wednesday morning proved to be equally well planned for the only place to get coffee was the Starbucks in the Casino, with 3 people working and a 25 minute line. However did there event planning failed, I will say though the up charge on the food and drinks did make it feel like we were at a real concert venue. Love paying $16 for a $3 beer we will not be back. Next time we will travel farther to stay at a better venue

My husband and I met some friends at this resort for a long weekend. I have to say for the price I expected way more. Our room was sort of clean but had some broken furniture in it. It was near the pool, so the entire building smelled like chlorine. The casino area was kind of fun to walk around but not that great. We couldn’t get into any of the onsite restaurants. And the main part of the resort (which is also a casino) was packed with people and full of cigarette smoke. It certainly was not worth the extravagant resort cost that we paid. The only saving grace was the pool area. We paid for a cabana and hung out by the pool two of the four days we stayed. My husband did end up getting some kind of skin infection while we were at the resort and his doctor expects it to be from the resort pool, but we do not know that for sure. All in all, my husband thinks that if you are looking to party with a bunch of people it might be a good place, but I would not recommend this resort. There are just so many better ones in California.

So the concert venue is really just a giant ballroom filled with chairs. Definitely not the best place to see a concert. No standing and views are somewhat obstructed. There is a riser in the back ... But then you are a few hundred feet from the stage. Meh!

I’ve had a very unpleasant experience with the Harrah’s facility. My experience has been with Hell’s Kitchen restaurant, however it has been next to impossible to speak to anyone directly from Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve only been able to communicate with the staff members through Harrah’s front desk & upper management. I have spoken to about 4-5 people regarding the same issue. We paid for a dinner in cash, our room was then charged for part of the dinner, however we were never informed. We only found out after checking our online banking. I’ve brought the issue up to the front desk at checkout. We were informed that this happens often, people at dinner will put the incorrect room number and that room will be charged for a dinner they never received. I personally believe more precaution should be taken regarding payments at the restaurant. The information on our bill also did not make sense. We provided the server with $400. We did not receive the change. Which we did not think anything of it, because it was less than $10. We just added that to the tip amount we would give them. We then requested to have a $50 bill to be broken. On the check it displays change was provided $26.77. I brought this up to management over the phone and was not given information why this was stated on the check and not $50. I’ve been told the amount of money provided is difficult to see on camera. I’ve had such a frustrating time getting this straightened out. I’ve had to repeat myself numerous times. We paid the correct amount. Our server brought back change after the entire bill was paid for. We are already paying a large amount for a room, expensive overpriced food all over the hotel, and what was supposed to be a celebration dinner at one of the “best restaurants ” in San Diego. Then they attempt claims we did not pay. I am repulsed by Harrah’s and how they conduct themselves. Be extremely cautious if you decide to go here. Don’t pay in cash anywhere, odds are they will claim you didn’t pay and charge you twice. I can’t help but think about all the people they have charged excessively who did not catch it. I’ve been told they reversed the charge, then I get a call saying they don’t see the full amount in the hard to see cameras. I’ve asked to view the footage myself and they have refused. The charge is still currently there. I’m disappointed & hope staff can be trained further on handling currency. Provide your customers with the proper change, notate the correct amounts on the check, and stop taking advantage of people. Not that it make a different in their revenue, but we will not be returning to Harrah’s. We will be sharing our story with others in hopes to deter them from having the same experience as us.
