George Kent Performance Hall Concerts

Westerly is so fortunate to have this world class chorus. Their performances are powerful. We especially look forward to the November and May classical concerts. When the orchestra and chorus really burst into top volume, it is thrilling!

Both the choir and the orchestra were wonderful but the orchestra was way too loud. Whenever they played during Brahm's Requiem you could not hear the choir well. It covers up many of the beautiful voices. This has happened many times before in their concerts and I have left the same feedback but nothing ever changes. it's a shame.

This 180 voice choir consists of persons from the ages of 8 Through their '80s. Performing four major concerts each year, their works feature the classical Masters as well as pop music. They also host at least one and sometimes more special guest stars in their own concert each year. Acoustics are wonderful here!

Great music! It was great seeing the young children singing along with other people of all ages 200 voices strong! They have been doing this for 59 years and dependent on donations--that's how much the community loves them.

One of New England's hidden musical gems. If you appreciate choral music, look for a chance to attend a concert. The organization is successful enough to own its own building with superb acoustics, and to have a full-time professional staff. That says a lot in this era of declining interest in the Arts and declining government and foundation support for the Arts Westerly's a charming town worth a overnight stay or at least getting to the concert early enough to enjoy some local sightseeing and one of the excellent restaurants at all price points.
