I attended the New Hanover County Diversity and Equity Summit at Cape Fear Community College hosted by the YWCA. What an experience! Phenomenal thought provoking, engaging presentations that left you educated and uplifted. It was a beautiful time of networking and life building. Looking forward to attending more life changing engagements!

I'm a transfer student from two other community colleges in our state and this BY FAR my absolute favorite. The professors honestly go above and beyond to make sure each individual student succeeds. I have never had to wait longer than 7-10 minutes to meet with an advisor or counselor. Plus, the location is BEAUTIFUL. Enjoy a view of the Cape Fear River/Historic Downtown as you learn!! There is also a Port City Java on campus for a pick me up!

Today, I feel compelled to write about the wonderful place where I work, Cape Fear Community College. This is my third year here and quite honestly, it is by far, my favorite place of employment. The grounds at CFCC are beautiful, the students are fantastic, and the culture is what makes it truly special. That starts with our President, Mr. Jim Morton who exemplifies our vision: Building a future oriented, world class workforce and a community of lifelong-learners in partnership with regional businesses and agencies. Our students benefit from an excellent education, enhanced student life and a vast opportunity for employment and college transfer studies. Our faculty and staff are highly-qualified, diverse, and dedicated to quality education and service to the College and the community. I am proud to be a part of this amazing institution.

CFCC as a college provides great opportunities for the students through the programs they provide. However, I spend more time teaching myself the curriculum for most of my classes than actually learning from the professors. Some professors are dedicated to teaching, down to earth and fair minded and some are seemingly incompetent, have unrealistic expectations and don't take their job seriously. The college is friendly to veterans but only transferred 6 of the 26 college credits that I accrued on active duty.
