The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts Reviews

We saw the musical Jagged Little Pill here the other night (GREAT show!) from last minute seats high in the balcony. Unfortunately there’s an obtrusive railing running the width of the section that made seeing the stage incredibly challenging. Then a couple arrived late to sit in the previously empty seats in front of us and we realized that the angle of the seating here is also an issue, because though they were not tall (and we’re not short) we could see next to nothing. We wound up moving to the very top row with empty seats below us and it was preferable to sitting several rows lower in our purchased seats. So kind of a bummer, but it’s a beautiful theatre, refreshments are well priced, and the staff was charming. Trying to dine in the area before (on a Saturday) was very difficult as most places were closed and what was open required reservations, which we didn’t have. (TIP: Avoid the sub place, Ziggy Bombs, whatever you do!) Parking in the indoor lot across the street had an event price of $20, which was expensive but to be expected. A wonderful night overall but we’d never choose those seats again.

Been going here since they opened in 2008. And ive performed here a few times too! It's a great theater tucked right in the middle of downtown worcester! Lots of traveling shows come through! Their parking garage is right across the street and lots of restaurants in the area to enjoy before the show!!! I recommend making reservations at a nearby resteraunt, parking at the parking garage, and walking over to enjoy some good eats at your place of choice before the show! This time we saw Beetlejuice! Highly highly recommend the show and this venue!

Overall a great visit at this theater while seeing Beetlejuice. The performance and staff were incredible. The staff were really organized too!

Nice theater in the heart of Worcester. I've seen multiple shows, from A Christmas Carol to Beetlejuice and I've always enjoyed myself. The seats are comfortable and the ushers are very helpful. The stage and sound is top notch. My only complaint and it may not bother everyone is when they open the main doors but not theater doors it forces the crowd to be bottlenecked in the stairwell.

Attended two shows at this venue and will try to not go back. For the first show, the doors were only opened 30 minutes before curtain, which made the show start 20 minutes late. Also during the show, the woman next to me was texting on her phone through out the performance - I had to ask her to stop, no usher intervention. For the second show, the noise that came from the audience from cell phones, rustling snack bags, and the chomping of popcorn were annoying, particularly through pivotal scenes in the show. There was also a man that was making a terribly noise, I'm unsure if it was a coughing situation or breathing issues, to the point that everyone in our section looked over to see if he required medical attention. This went on for FAR longer than necessary - and *throughout* the show - and not one usher was seen heading his way to see if he was alright or to provide him with water or SOMETHING. The theater is beautiful but not cared for. Dust lined every one of the maroon colored curtains throughout the theater.
