Formed in Van Nuys, California, in 1978 by Mike Saunders and Gregg Turner, the Angry Samoans emerged as part of the first wave of Los Angeles punk. Known for a primitive, thrashy sound and satirical style, they debuted with the 1980 EP Inside My Brain and released the album Back from Samoa in 1982.
