Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 is a landmark symphony composed by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven between 1804 and 1808. Widely recognized as one of the most famous and frequently performed compositions in classical music history, the four-movement work premiered in Vienna in 1808 and is celebrated for its iconic, ominous four-note opening motif, which is often interpreted as the musical manifestation of fate knocking at the door.
