David Sedaris, born in Johnson City, NY, and raised in Raleigh, NC, is an American humorist, author, and radio contributor. He is known for sardonic autobiographical essays and social commentary, with popular works like "Me Talk Pretty One Day" and "Santaland Diaries". Sedaris has received the Thurber Prize for American Humor and Grammy nominations for audio versions of his works. He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and has collaborated with his sister, Amy Sedaris.
