Converge, formed in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1990, pioneered metalcore, hardcore punk, and mathcore with their aggressive, boundary-pushing sound. Their landmark 2001 album "Jane Doe" is widely acclaimed. Known for intense live shows and a consistent lineup, they released "Love Is Not Enough" and "Hum of Hurt" in 2026.
Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile formed in 2019. They released EPs This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please, then debuted with God’s Country (2022, The Flenser), earning Pitchfork Best New Music and year-end lists from Rolling Stone and SPIN.
Formed in Savannah, GA in 2003, Baroness blend sludge, prog and alt-metal. Their debut The Red Album won Revolver’s Album of the Year; Blue Record won Decibel’s. Yellow & Green hit the US Top 30. Grammy-nominated, they founded Abraxan Hymns.
