Rob Base, born Robert Ginyard in Harlem, hit big with “It Takes Two” alongside DJ E-Z Rock. Known for pioneering hip-house, their track ruled dance floors and climbed Billboard's Top 40. Despite personal and legal challenges, Base released solo work, though none matched their initial success. The duo briefly reunited before E-Z Rock's death in 2014.
