Omar Hakim, born in NYC, rose to fame in the '80s as a drummer with Carly Simon and Weather Report, known for jazz fusion. Famous for his work on David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”, he's acclaimed for his dynamic, innovative style.
Born in London and raised in Brooklyn, Vernon Reid, lead guitarist of Living Colour, co-founded the Black Rock Coalition. Known for genre-bending styles from rock to jazz, he played with Defunkt and Public Enemy and gained acclaim with Living Colour's "Vivid." He collaborated with Mick Jagger, and in 1996 released his solo debut "Mistaken Identity." Reid continues as a session guitarist and producer, notably with James Blood Ulmer, and co-formed Free Form Funky Freqs.
Born in Los Angeles, Azar Lawrence is a renowned saxophonist known for his collaborations with jazz legends like McCoy Tyner and Miles Davis. His albums include the acclaimed 'Bridge to the New Age' and 'Shadow Dancing'. Known for his spiritual jazz-funk style, he's worked with Marvin Gaye and more.
Corey Glover, born in Brooklyn, NY, is famed as Living Colour's lead singer. Known for hits like "Cult of Personality," he also pursued solo music and acted in films, including "Platoon." His band's blend of hard-rock sound and engaged lyrics won them critical acclaim.
NYC-born Moby, a major 90s electronic dance figure, crossed into mainstream with hits like "Go" & album "Play". Known for his Christian faith, veganism and activism, he mixed punk, disco, and ambient sounds. Collaborated with Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, and more.
