He founded Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, collaborated with legends like Dizzy Gillespie, Nina Simone, and Archie Shepp, and earned acclaim for iconic albums like *Three Gentlemen from Chicago* and *Africa N'Da Blues.* Known for his innovative style and leadership in the AACM, he’s also featured in the documentary *Be Known: The Mystery of Kahil El Zabar.*
