LineUp

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, a leading Maryland cultural institution, has performed at Baltimore’s Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall since 1982. Led by music director Marin Alsop, it’s known for acclaimed recordings, including Gershwin (Decca, 2010) and Bernstein (Naxos, 2017).
Richard Strauss, born in Munich, Germany, was a leading late Romantic and early Modern German composer and conductor. Renowned for his tone poems, including "Also sprach Zarathustra", and operas like "Der Rosenkavalier", he mastered orchestral and vocal composition. Strauss collaborated notably with librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal. He was also a successful conductor of orchestras and director of opera houses.
Zwickau-born Robert Schumann, a German Romantic composer, shaped the era with expressive piano works, Lieder, and symphonies. His innovative style blended emotion and literature. He was also an influential music critic.
