Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Valerie June is known for her distinctive voice and singing style. Since 2013’s Pushin’ Against A Stone, she’s released best-selling solo albums including The Order of Time and The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers.
The Mary Wallopers are brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, formed as a three-piece Irish ballad group touring Ireland to sing and collect songs. Known for raw live energy, they later expanded to a six-piece, adding bass, drums, tin whistle/pipes, and accordion.
Niger-based Tuareg musician Bombino (born Goumar Almoctar in Tidene) blends trance-like guitar, captivating vocals, and Saharan rhythms. Albums include Agadez, Nomad (with Dan Auerbach), Azel and Deran; Deran earned a 2019 Grammy nod.
