Bikini Kill is a feminist punk band formed in 1990, based in Olympia, WA and Washington, DC. Fronted by Kathleen Hanna, they helped instigate the early ’90s Riot Grrrl movement via political lyrics, zines, and confrontational live shows.
Chicago art-punk band Ganser made the LP Animal Hospital, produced by Angus Andrew of Liars. Known for propulsive, rhythm-driven songs built on pounding drums, bass, guitars, and synths; toured with IDLES, Mclusky, and Ted Leo.
