Bria Skonberg and Gabrielle Cavassa

Bria Skonberg, born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, is a renowned jazz trumpeter and vocalist celebrated for her dynamic performances that blend traditional jazz with modern influences. She began her musical journey with piano lessons before transitioning to the trumpet in her early teens. Skonberg pursued her passion academically, earning a degree in jazz trumpet from Capilano University in Vancouver. During her time in Canada, she led bands such as Brias Hot Five and The Big Bang Jazz Band, and co-founded the all-female Mighty Aphrodite Jazz Band.

In 2010, Skonberg relocated to New York City, where she quickly became a prominent figure in the jazz scene. She co-founded the New York Hot Jazz Festival in 2013 and has performed with esteemed artists like Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, and Wycliffe Gordon. Her accolades include the Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year in 2017 for her album Bria. Skonberg continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her innovative approach to jazz, seamlessly fusing elements of traditional New Orleans jazz, swing, and bossa nova into her music.

Gabrielle Cavassa is an American vocalist-composer of Italian descent who is garnering attention for her distinctive voice and intimate expression. She was crowned a winner of the International Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition in 2021 after the independent release of her critically acclaimed debut album. Cavassa is featured on celebrated saxophonist Joshua Redman's inaugural album with Blue Note Records, where are we, released September 2023.

Kind Reminder: Snug Harbor does NOT serve the full menu inside the Music Room. We do offer cheese and charcuterie tray options. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet, and focus of our world-class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails, and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.

Age Restrictions

This event is 13 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 13 years of age will not be admitted to this event and will not be eligible for a refund. All concert ticket sales are final and non-refundable. All patrons must have valid government-issued Photo ID available upon entry. All teenage patrons must be ticketed like adults and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while inside the jazz club. Sorry, no children under 13 are permitted.

Venue Policies

Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro has a STRICT No Cell Phones, No Cameras Policy at all times during all showtimes inside the music room. Violation of this policy while inside the venue may result in removal from the club without ticket refunds. There is NO SMOKING allowed anywhere inside the building, and there are NO PETS ALLOWED at any time. Legitimate Service Dogs must be wearing full credentials at all times upon entry, and the owner must have licensing papers available upon staff request for service dogs. Sorry, no emotional support pets are allowed inside at any time.
