Celebrated for works like "Hungarian Dances" and his "Lullaby," he is considered one of classical music's "Three Bs" alongside Bach and Beethoven, leaving an enduring legacy.
Born in Lowestoft, England, Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) was a towering 20th-century composer, conductor, and pianist. Renowned for revolutionizing British opera, his emotive style blended classical traditions with diverse influences. Celebrated works include the operas "Peter Grimes" and "War Requiem," alongside "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra."
Jane Glover is a trailblazing British conductor and scholar, known for Baroque editions and studies. Her pro debut was 1975 at Wexford Festival. She led the London Mozart Players (1984–91) and became principal conductor of Music of the Baroque in 2002.
Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra is the resident training ensemble of the Tanglewood Music Center, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer academy for advanced musical studies in Lenox, Massachusetts. Founded in 1940 by music director Serge Koussevitzky, the orchestra is composed of elite pre-professional fellows who perform under the mentorship of BSO musicians and world-renowned guest conductors.
