LineUp

The Anti-Nowhere League, a provocative U.K. punk band from Tunbridge Wells, formed in 1979. Known for their gritty biker style and controversial lyrics, their debut single "Streets of London" featured the notorious B-side "So What." They hit U.K. charts with "We Are...The League" and gained U.S. fame touring with U.K. Subs. Metallica covered "So What," sparking renewed interest and leading to a reunion. Known for intense live shows and evolving lineups, they continue to release albums like "The Road to Rampton" and "League Style."
The U.K. Subs, founded by Charlie Harper in 1976, are pivotal to the second wave of British punk, known for their aggressive, anthemic sound. Their debut, "Another Kind of Blues" (1979), and subsequent albums like "Brand New Age" established their commercial success. Despite frequent lineup changes, Harper maintained their energy. Influenced by early Clash, their style later embraced heavy metal. The band earned acclaim for live performances and notable works like "Crash Course." Their legacy spans over four decades, continuously resonating with punk fans across the globe.
Buzzcocks, formed in Manchester by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, helped shape British punk with energetic pop-punk tunes. Known for songs like "Orgasm Addict" and "What Do I Get?", they released influential albums such as Another Music in a Different Kitchen and Love Bites. Disbanded in 1981, they re-formed in 1989, continuing to tour and release music, including 1993's Trade Test Transmissions. Their punk-pop sound inspired bands like Nirvana. After Shelley's 2018 death, Steve Diggle led the band, releasing Sonics in the Soul in 2022.
