Robert Spano, born in Conneaut, Ohio, is a renowned conductor known for leading major American orchestras, winning multiple Grammys with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He champions contemporary works, has directed acclaimed operatic performances, and frequently appears on TV. His collaborations include composers Golijov, Higdon, and Muhly. Spano served as music director of the Atlanta Symphony (2001–2021) and was named music director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2022. He's also an acclaimed composer, praised for works like Four Elements and Hölderlin-Lieder.
Violinist Gil Shaham, born in Illinois, rose to fame in the 1990s with a rich recording career. Notable works include Grammy-winning recordings with André Previn and releases with Deutsche Grammophon and Canary Classics, collaborating with orchestras like the Chicago Symphony. Award highlights include the Avery Fisher Prize and Instrumentalist of the Year by Musical America. Shaham, known for his performances on a 1699 Stradivarius, lives in New York with his wife violinist Adele Anthony.
