Soul Glo worked in an unfinished warehouse on drum tones for their full-length Diaspora Problems, produced largely independently from 2016–2021. Demo and tracking were handled by bassist GG and engineer Evan Bernard; final tracks were recorded summer 2021.

Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile formed in 2019. They released EPs This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please, then debuted with God’s Country (2022, The Flenser), earning Pitchfork Best New Music and year-end lists from Rolling Stone and SPIN.
